Mexico’s Carlos Ortiz won the International Series Macau, holding down the US Patrick lead on Sunday with a final round score of 6 under 64.

Ortiz, Lead and third-place finisher Jason Cocrack booked their place at the Royal Portrush opening this summer thanks to a top-3 finish.

“I’m delighted to be heading for the open,” Ortiz said.

Ortiz finished at 22 under, with three ahead of the lead. Ortiz previously won last year’s International Series Oman, securing his second career victory in the International Series and Asia Tour on Sunday.

“It’s been a good week,” Ortiz said. “I think I did a good job playing the ball. That’s important on this golf course. I think I drove it really well. I used the Per Five and some short Per Four.”

The lead finished at 67 on Sunday and settled on an overall score of 19 under. His score was followed by a teammate of American Cocracks, who finished third with an overall score of 16 under.

“Unfortunately, I didn’t get the victory,” Reid said. “But whenever you can play bogey free on Sunday, you’re always positive. Finishing your solo second and being there openly, that means a lot.”

Reuters contributed to this report.
