Celtic recently confirmed that Benjamin Nigren has arrived in a permanent deal from Danish side Norge Laland in a permanent deal to bolster their options at the top edge of the pitch.
Swedish International will be the third signing of Brendan Rogers in the offseason, following Kieran Tierney and Ross Dohan through the doors so far.
Nygren is aiming to pose a goal threat to the side of the hoops next season, scoring 15 goals in 30 Danish Super Liga matches in the 2024/25 campaign.
How much Celtic paid to sign Benjamin Niglen
Celtic took advantage of the fact that his contract with Norgeland is expected to expire at the end of December this year. That means I had to cash him out before losing anything in January.
So, despite his impressive goal return in Super Liga, Hoop only paid a reporting fee of around £2 million to bring his left-footed star to Parkhead.
This suggests that the club has hit a bargain to sign the 23-year-old talent.
In fact, Celtic now has many other forwards worth more than £2 million that the club paid to sign Nyglen, including Irish striker Adam Ida.
Celtic hit the jackpot with Adam Ida
Hoop chose to sign Ireland International on a permanent contract from Norwich City last year, but was valued at just £3 million from the Transfer Mark after the forward spent the second half of the 2023/24 campaign on loan at Parkhead.
Ida enjoyed a solid first full season with the Scottish Premiership Championship in Glasgow, offering 20 goals and one assist in all Rodgers competitions.
The former Canaries star, once said to be “incredible” by Rogers, was not a regular starter, and 19 leagues started his name, but proved his worth to the team with his contributions to the pitch.

As you can see in the table above, Ida ranked very highly among the department forwards in many key attack metrics despite lack of a start.
His distance of 20 goals in all competitions for Celtic led to a surge in his market value. At the time of writing, the 24-year-old centre-forward is currently valued at £5.5 million. That’s £2.5 million than last summer, and £3.5 million, the club just paid Nygren.
This shows that Hoop hit a jackpot with an Irish marksman as he signed a younger player who is increasingly valuable while contributing to many goals on the pitch.
The Scottish Giants hope to take the next step and become a regular starter at 9th place, and hope to add more goals to his name and increase his value by millions.
