It’s a big summer for Celtic.
After reaching the Champions League knockout stage for the first time in 21 years, Brendan Rodgers, who was beaten 3-2 overall by Bayern Munich, demands that his team kick next season.
As Scottish Premiership Champion, Hoop will enter the Champions League next season in the playoff round and will need to pass through a two-legged tie just to return to the league phase.
Currently, it is predicted to be seeded, but that could change, but potential opponents in Hoop include Basel, Sturm Glaz, Dynamo Kiev, Rijeka, Malmö, Slovan Bratislava, Rudgorez Razgrad, Rek Posnan and Stouwa Bucharest.
Nevertheless, anyone they face, that’s not easy, so why does Rogers want to get his new signature early, but can one of his best assets actually go out?
Latest news on the future of Arne Engels
According to a report in Italy earlier this week, Atalanta manager Giampierogasperini has identified Celtic midfielder Arne Engels as one of his top targets, and Radea has made a “specific attempt” to sign him.
Belgium International arrived in Glasgow only last summer. The Celts broke the club record fee, signed him, costing him £11m from Augsburg.
So far, Engels has made 51 appearances in the hoops, scoring 10 goals and providing 13 assists, naming the club’s Young Player of the Year earlier this month.
Nick McPheat of BBC Sports claims that Celtic “hasn’t got the value of the money yet”, but Rodgers hopes to develop Engels into a “complete package.”
Nevertheless, he’s played in the Bundesliga before, so one day Engels wanted to play in the top five leagues again, but will he be able to come earlier than anyone else on that day?
If he’s going, did Rogers already identify an alternative to his dream?
Celtic Dreams Engels Alternative
Earlier this season, soccer insider Pete O’Rourke recorded Celtic’s interest in midfielder Keenan Deucebury Hall.
The 26-year-old reunited with manager Enzo Maresca, who joined Chelsea from Leicester City for £30 million last summer, but as the table below highlighted, the move certainly didn’t work for all involved.

As the table outlines, 73% of the total number of Dewsbury-Halls this season was held in the UEFA Conference League, with only two Premier League matches.
The most eye-catching statistic is that he played over 100 minutes in Chelsea’s Premier League this season.
Thus, former Scottish International Pat Nevin told Grosvenor Sports that Dewsbury Hall’s talent was wasted in West London, saying, “It’s a real shame… he’s a quality player and couldn’t show that he “needs to play ‘soccer’.”
So, can the move to Celtic be placed on the card for players deemed worth £21 million in accordance with the football relocation?
Of course, Rogers is Leicester’s manager, describing Dewsbury Hall as a “revelation,” saying “he is a great demonstration of a very hard worker,” adding that it is a “real joy” for the coach.
So how does the “sensenal” Chelsea outcast dubbed by Rogers compare to Engels, who can replace Glasgow’s East End?

As the table outlines, Engels scored more goals and registered more assists, but the statistics underlying Dewsbury Hall are pretty much superior on the whole.
The British completed his pass further and attempted a take-on. Most of his shots hit targets.
The Belgian has accumulated 3.5 times greater opportunities on his side.
So it’s clear that Dewsbury-Hall is the perfect fit for this Rodgers Celtic team. The main challenge is to drive him out of Chelsea, both in fees and wages, without breaking the bank.
