Celtics Injury Report: Jules Holiday (hamstring) returns against the Knicks for Monday’s Game 1

On Monday evening, the #2 Seed Celtics will hold the #3 Seed Knicks in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference semi-finals. During the 2024-25 regular season, New York wiped out Boston 4-0.

In their first round series, the Celtics suffered several injuries. One was two-time NBA champion Jrue Holiday. He missed 3, 4 and 5 games for Boston with a hamstring injury. Before Monday in Knicks vs. Celtics Game 1, Boston has reported a clean injury. This means that Jrue Holiday will be available to the Celtics.

Prior to the 2023-24 season, the Celtics were involved in the Jrue Holiday three-team deal. The veteran guard added championship DNA to Boston, helping him win the NBA Finals in 2024. They have the same goals as in the 2025 postseason. In the first round series of the 2025 playoffs, the #2 Seed Celtics face #7 Seed Magic. Orlando tried to keep the series competitive with a victory in Game 3, but lost 4-1 to Boston.

In games 1 and 2, the Celtics were offering services for start guard Jrue Holiday. He averaged 34.5 minutes per Boston game. Prior to Game 3, holidays were not available due to a hamstring injury. The veteran security guard missed three consecutive games for Boston, but is ready to go Monday night. Boston’s injury report has Zero players ahead of Game 1 and the Knicks. Jrue Holiday is available at the Celtics.

The 34-year-old is a versatile two-way player in Boston. Holidays are a serviceable offensive threat to the Celtics. The team does not rely on him to get over 20 points per scorer in the game. Instead, Holiday balances offensively and does a bit of everything. His calling card is the ball’s defense. Holiday is widely considered to be one of the NBA’s most pound-pound defenders. Expect to see the Karl-Anthony Towns from Jrue Holiday Gunder Knicks from time to time in this series. He is more than his ability to hold himself. Knicks vs Celtics Game 1 will be until 7:30pm on Monday.
