The Celtics are on the road Monday night to face the Knicks in Game 4 of the East semi-finals. New York stole the first two games in Boston. In Game 3, the Celtics responded with much needed victory.
Boston shot 25-100 over the arc in games 1 and 2. They scored 20-40 in Game 3 wins. Ahead of Game 4 on Monday, the Celtics upgraded Sam Hauser to something suspicious. Hauser is a spinning piece from the bench, but he is a key player who can make Boston’s floors into space. Will the 27-year-old return to action after missing two games with an ankle injury?

Over the past three seasons, Samhauser has been a reliable part of the Boston Celtics rotation. Hauser played more than 70 games on 2022-23, 2023-24, and 2024-25. He played 71 of the Celtics’ 82 games in the 2024-25 regular season. In the third quarter of Game 1 vs Zanicks, Samhauser suffered an ankle injury after coming into contact with OG Anunoby. Hauser grabbed her ankle and went to the ground, not returning to Boston.
He missed games 2 and 3 with ankle sprain, but was upgraded suspiciously for Game 4. Hauser played in six of Boston’s eight games this postseason. During the 2024-25 regular season, Hauser shot .416% over the Ark. He’s more of the Celtics floor space than he can make a shot from the deep. Hauser can still be an effective role player for Boston, even if he plays in Game 4 within 10 minutes.
The Celtics shot 25-100 from across the arc in games 1 and 2. Luckily, the shot began to fall for Boston in Game 3. They went 20-40 over the arc and hit the Knicks 115-93. Boston is heading down the road again for Game 4 on Monday. Does the team have another strong shooting performance after winning 30% in Game 3? If the Celtics win, the series will tie it to 2-2. Otherwise, the Knicks have a 3-1 lead.
