Former UFC lightweight champion Charles Oliveira has adapted his life story to the film.
Ahead of his upcoming title fight with Iliatopria at UFC 317 on June 28th, Eduardo Ferro of 405 films acquired Oliveira’s right to life and adapted his story to a feature film.
The biopic is scheduled to be filmed in Las Vegas and Brazil, and plans are expected to tell the story of Oliveira, from his early days growing up in Faberas, Sao Paulo, to his historic run through the UFC, where he ultimately became the champion in 2021.
“The feature film dramatically portrays his rise, from life-threatening health issues in the poor Vicente de Carvalho district of Guarja township, to the life-threatening health issues that exist in Sao Paulo, to the world’s most important MMA league and the domination of Brazil’s Jiu-Jitsu world before becoming the ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC).
“As a child, Oliveira was actually ordered by a doctor who wasn’t playing sports because of his heart muttering. Dustin Poilierand Justin Slave. He fights to regain the lightweight championship title in a headline match against Ilia Toporia at UFC 317 in June. ”
The film plans to engage Oliveira’s entire life together with the former UFC champion in the adaptation.
“From the brilliance of Guarja to the bright light of the octagon, this is always heart, faith, and never give up,” Oliveira said in a press release. “Eduardo and the 405 Film are the perfect team to make the story come true.”
Brazilian director and producer, Ferro was in front of combat sports before producing a film about Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu champion Fernando Telere.
Currently, he has adapted Oliveira’s life story to a new film, and the project title has not yet been decided.
“It’s an honor to make a film about Charles Oliveira,” Ferro said. “Brazil produces many combat sports athletes, but he is truly a lion lion.” His wild success in the face of such adversity, and the way he connects his hometown culture with American culture, really inspires this story. I am grateful for his trust in telling this story and for his challenge to celebrate his credibility.
“Charles’s story will become more than a film – like his life, this will be a message to all children who feel the world has forgotten them: Your time is coming.
