Chelsea, who defeated Nottingham Forest 1-0 at City Ground this afternoon, was enough to secure Club Champions League football ahead of the 2025/26 campaign.
Levi Colwill’s second half was enough to secure all three points of Enzo Maresca’s men in just a few minutes into the second half, and he entered his fourth year at the helm in Italy’s first season.
Such achievements are exceptional, passing the hierarchy to the required boost in the finance department, and certainly helping to stand the current PSR and alleviating concerns.
The victory in the East Midlands was certainly a fierce battle contest, deserving a place among European elites and having the opportunity to win the third European Cup.
However, despite the victory, many players struggle to make the desired impact on the torrentside, potentially putting their position at risk during the summer transfer period.
Chelsea’s poor performer against Nottingham Forest
Midfielder Enzo Fernandez has been widely associated with movements that have been away from Chelsea for the past few weeks, with Real Madrid being the main costume in the race he signed.
Argentina struggled to create the best display in victory, unable to win a single tackle and only completed 70% of the passes he attempted.
He wasn’t just a mistake in the emotional state. He attacked midfielder Cole Palmer and was disappointed once again, and had to regain his best form in 2025/26.
The 23-year-old failed to complete the dribbling of his attempts and registered just 17%, or just 17%, from the cross he boxed.
However, despite the show from the aforementioned duo, another first-team regular was unable to extract his best performance level, putting his long-term future at Stamford Bridge at great risk.
May 10th Chelsea Stars may never play for the club again
This summer is likely to be exciting for Chelsea supporters, with the manager now having additional funds to make the changes he wants to make to the team he played.
He did an epic job adjacent to the top five positions, deserving the opportunity to land targets that he feels will improve his options freely.
But he probably wants to move players in the process. Winger Jadon Sancho has a big question mark adjacent to the future of West London over the coming months.
The 25-year-old was obliged to rent it out from Manchester United last summer for £25 million, but was able to pay for him to send him back to his parent club in the £5 million area.
However, his show in the East Midlands did not satisfy the hierarchy, allowing him to spell out the end of his stint as Chelsea’s first team player.
Sancho appeared in the contest for 62 minutes, unable to register goal efforts, complete dribbling, showing lack of influence in the final third.
He also registered only a ridiculous tally of 32 touches, lower than goalkeeper Robert Sanchez’s figures, who managed a total of 44.

The lender also failed to win a single tackle, but lost 100% of the air duel he entered, showing he was unable to impress on all areas of the pitch.
As a result of his disappointing show against the Reds, he was rated by the standard Malikuuzia for just 5/10 matches.
Such displays could save £20 million to raise doubts about Maresca’s long-term future and invest in other goals when they return to Old Trafford.
It’s safe to say his time with the Bruce is far below many expectations. The hierarchy needs to make sure his outing today is the last for the club.
