According to Fabrizio Romano, Chelsea has stepped up the tracking of AC Milan’s Mike Maynyaan.
The club has begun contact with the Italian side, head coach Enzo Maresca is completely behind the move, and France International considers it to be a perfect fit for his tactical philosophy.
Mainyan is now emerging as a top priority for Chelsea, and Chelsea is keen to find a long-term solution between the sticks.
Mike Meinyan was impressed by several top clubs
The 29-year-old is a consistent performer both in the club and in the country, and has earned a reputation as one of Europe’s best goalkeepers.
His ability to command his area and distribute the ball precisely has attracted the attention of some of the world’s biggest clubs as Chelsea leads the race to sign him this summer.
Maresca is said to be the main driving force behind the movement. The blues boss company believes in building from behind, and Mainyan’s calm with the ball at his feet makes him ideal for a system he owns.
Romano provided the update with his X account:
“Understanding understanding also began with Enzo Maresca, who evaluates French goalkeepers as the ideal option for his tactical approach.
“Chelsea is working on that and the manager has approved Mainyan as a key target.”
Chelsea already has Robert Sanchez and Philip Jorgensen in their books, but neither goalkeeper has completely solidified their No. 1 role.
The arrival of highly carable shot stoppers like Mainyan will bring experience, quality and leadership to the backline.
Chelsea wants more depth and quality
As the Blues prepare to participate in the Champions League next season, they are ready to work in the summer transfer window and strengthen their teams in several positions.
As AC Milan has left to part with the star keeper, who is currently under contract until 2026, and there is no agreement on renewal, Chelsea feels the opportunity.
Meanwhile, Bruce decides to end Jadon Sancho’s loan spell at the club after failing to find an agreement on his wages.
The Premier League giants are also looking to add more firepower to their offense, and they are currently chasing Hugo Echicchike of Eintrohat Frankfurt.
