Chelsea attacker Joao Felix wants to leave the club during the summer transfer and he wants to return to his former club, Benfica.
The 25-year-old struggled with his usual game time at Chelsea and he was unable to adapt to British football. He was lending it for Italian club AC Milan last season, but he is trying to settle his future forever.
Chelsea Ace hopes Benfica will return
The player is keen to return to his comfort zone and it will be interesting to see if Chelsea are ready to move him forward. They don’t see him as a key player in the club, so it’s fair to assume that the deal could soon be agreed.
According to Portuguese Publication A Bola, the 25-year-old is happy again and wants to enjoy his football. Returning to his former club Benfica might be ideal for Felix. He knows the club well and can quickly settle down and play at a high level.
Joao Felix needs to go ahead
Felix needs to regain his shape and confidence. When he joined Atletico Madrid, he was considered a world class player, but his development has been stagnant ever since. He showed his abilities in bits and parts, but he couldn’t live up to his expectations.
The player has received high praise in Europe and he is said to be the person who has “magic” in his game. It will be interesting to see if he can rediscover himself and fulfill his incredible potential. He is still young enough to improve even further.
Chelsea are trying to get a lot of money back for him and invest the proceeds from his departure into the play team. They need to improve their attacking units, ideally selling fringe players.
