Chris Finch said after the Minnesota Timberwolves’ recent loss that he is worried about their future after what he saw from them.
The Minnesota Timberwolves had to play the Denver Nuggets without Anthony Edwards, but as expected, they lost the game.
The Nuggets easily defeated the Timberwolves, who looked lost offensively, even though Aaron Gordon had trouble shooting the ball.
And defensively, the Timberwolves couldn’t get any stops to save their lives as the Nuggets got everything they wanted against them.
This lack of defensive composure is becoming a pattern that can’t be ignored for the Timberwolves, and coach Chris Finch is becoming increasingly concerned.
Chris Finch spoke to reporters after the Minnesota Timberwolves lost to the Denver Nuggets. When asked about the defensive situation, Finch didn’t hold back.
He admitted that the way the Timberwolves play on the defensive side of the court puts a lot of stress on him and wishes they could play more consistently.
“So, I’m very concerned about that right now. We were very inconsistent defensively.”
At this point, there’s no way the Timberwolves’ defense can be this poor when Anthony Edwards is off the court. He’s a good defender, but the Timberwolves have a player who recently won the Former Defensive Player of the Year award.
The entire defense can’t fall apart just because their best player can’t play that night.
Jaden McDaniels also spoke about the Timberwolves’ defensive situation and believes the team doesn’t have the communication needed to be successful. But he thinks things can be fixed.
“We just aren’t together. Two of us may be on the same page, some of us may not. So we all need to get on the same page and talk more.”
“And before you go to the game, know what you’re doing in the game. Yes, it’s fixable. We just have to prepare better and be ready to play.”
The Minnesota Timberwolves will face the injury-hit Los Angeles Lakers on Wednesday night. A win against a team plagued by numerous injuries could give the Timberwolves exactly what they need.
