For everyone in the organization, the Milwaukee Bucks has pressure to produce.
After a disappointing run last year, highlighted by the inactive midseason coaching layoffs of Adrian Griffin and Giannis Antetocomo, the Milwaukee Bucks were hoping for a better person as they began their 2024-25 season.
But it was another up and down campaign. The latest struggle came when Damien Lillard was diagnosed with deep vein thrombosis a month before the playoffs.
Entering the 2025 playoff stage as the fifth seed of the Eastern Conference, the Bucks lost their opening game against the Indiana Pacers, which killed hope last season.
This season is the second straight campaign from Milwaukee’s Antetocon Polilado era.
In the summer of 2023, the franchise won Lillard from the Portland Trail Blazers in search of a title aspiration, and approved the departure of Jrue Holiday.
And if the main title execution doesn’t come true, expect big changes to unfold, according to NBA insider Chris Haynes.
“These 2025 playoffs for the Milwaukee Bucks, that’s going to be crucial. If they don’t reach the finals, win the finals, or do a deep run, you’ll probably see some wholesale changes in Milwaukee.”
“You can go from the coaching staff to the front office and players. If the Milwaukee Bucks don’t run significantly this postseason, it could be a pretty big and important wholesale.”
The Bucks challenges spark the constant rumours surrounding the future of Giannis Antetocompo.
Another MVP caliber’s year-drop Greek sense maintains a victory commitment to the Bucks amid the noise on the outside.
Nonetheless, there were several teams reportedly focusing on the situation in Milwaukee, including the Golden State Warriors.
Two league MVPs recently dropped some inexplicable words about the complaints he has in his overall career achievements. And if he and the Bucks fail to deepen it this postseason, Haynes believes that both sides can reevaluate their partnership.
“I could see them going in a different direction, and I could certainly see it going in a different direction if this postseason gets sour,” he said.
Antetokounmpo and the ongoing title plan give you time to see what happens with the Bucks. If they haven’t achieved it again in the end, this will be the main storyline to watch.
