Longtime Los Angeles pitcher Clayton Kershaw commented on the team’s decision to assign and designate catcher Austin Burns.

Burns was often behind the plate when Kershaw took the mound, and the two formed friendships far exceeded what happened with the diamond.
“I think everyone was surprised,” Kershaw said Thursday. “Yeah, sad. Burncy on the field or off-field is one of my best friends. You can’t find a guy better than Austin Burns. He wants to win more than anyone. He’s always found a big moment for us.
