The Kershaw was the “Legendary Pick” by MLB Commissioner Rob Manfred, midsummer classics in 2025. National League Star manager Dave Roberts has revealed that the three-time CY Young winner will win the mound in the All-Star Game.
Roberts said he plans to pitch the car show early in the game.
Carshaw, who sports a 3.38 ERA in the 10th start of this season, was initially surprised to receive an All-Star nod. He received the news a few days after recording his 3,000th career strikeout against the Chicago White Sox.
“No matter the circumstances, I don’t take it for granted that I go to the All-Star Game,” he said. “Obviously I don’t deserve to go this season. I’m not pitching much. But whatever it includes to go to the All-Star Game, I can take my family with me.
“That’s an incredible honour. I’m grateful to go. No matter the situation or how I sneak into the All-Star Game, it’s pretty cool to go.”
While the choice of Kershaw acknowledges his illustrious career, there are up-and-coming stars who look forward to talking to future Hall of Fame, including Pittsburgh’s Pirates Ace Paul Skenneth.
“He’s one of the people I grew up watching and I hope that by the end of the All-Star Game, Car Show won’t get bored of me,” Skenneth said. “I’m going to go over there and choose his brain as much as I can for everything he’s accomplished in this game. It’s going to be a pinch-mouth moment. It’s a cool opportunity to share the clubhouse with him for a day.”
