The Los Angeles won back-to-back World Series titles in an epic Game 7. This showdown was also the final game of future Hall of Famer Clayton Kershaw’s illustrious career.
The three-time Cy Young Award winner reflected on the last time he played at Stadium during an unforgettable 18-inning game in Game 3 of the World Series.

“It’s a weird thought, like, ‘This is the last game over there,'” Kershaw said. “I don’t feel sad. Honestly, I just feel grateful. It’s like, ‘Oh, we had so many great times here.'”
Kershaw was placed out of the bullpen as a reliever in the 12th inning of the 18-inning classic that ultimately decided Game 3.
He entered the game in an incredibly tense situation with two outs and the bases loaded, but eight pitches and some nifty fielding from Tommy Edman saved the future Hall of Famer.
After Game 5 of the World Series, even though the lost and fell behind 3-2 to Toronto, Kershaw took time to soak in the moment and take one last stroll around Stadium.
“When the game ended, I just started thinking about it,” Kershaw said. “I thought, ‘Oh, I might just walk across this place again.'”
With the heading into a tough Game 7 against the Blue Jays, Kershaw left the game of baseball as a champion. This was the third championship he had won in his career and marked the end of the 18 years he had spent in the game.
