Cy Young’s three-time winner was a popular player in the clubhouse as many other National League stars were eager to pick the brains of the one-day car show.
One of those young stars was Pittsburgh’s Pirates Ace Paul Skens.
“He’s one of the people I grew up watching and I hope that by the end of the All-Star Game, Car Show won’t get bored of me,” Skenneth said before the All-Star Game. “I’m going to go over there and choose his brain as much as I can for everything he’s accomplished in this game. It’s going to be a pinch-mouth moment. It’s a cool opportunity to share the clubhouse with him for a day.”
Snation’s Doug McCain asked Kershaw about his thoughts on Skens, with Southpaw only giving praise to the 23-year-old.
“As a pitcher, he’s incredible,” Kershaw said of Skens. “He’s a bulldog there, so nothing is step-by-step and competitive. I was able to talk to Paul this week. He has this streak of routines. We were only here for two days.
“I didn’t talk to him much. We talked a bit about pitch grips and various things like that. You can say he wants good.
