In recent developments, the Indian Cricket Committee (BCCI) has appointed a team from 15 members of the upcoming two-match Test series against the West Indies at home. Especially veteran all-around Rabindra Jadaja He was appointed vice captain, and it is surprising to many in the cricket community.

India will host the West Indies for two tests. The series will begin on October 2nd at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, with the second and final tests being held at Arunjaitri Stadium in Delhi. In particular, the series will be India’s second outing and will be the first to be held at home in the New World Test Championship Cycle.

Speaking at a press conference Ajit Agarkar Rishabh Pant said he has not recovered completely in time for the series. Agarkar said Jadeja has been appointed interim assistant captain of the series.

“Rishabh Pant hasn’t fully recovered for this series. I hope he recovers for the next series, which is why he chose Jadeja as his vice captain,” Agarkar told reporters.

N Jagadeeshan was selected as a spare wicketkeeper. He previously received an oval test call against England and also played India A match against Australia A. Team Management will continue to closely monitor Pants’ rehabilitation to assess future series availability.

Ravindra Jadeja has appointed vice captain of the West Indies series

After Rohit Sharma’s retirement Virat Kohli Earlier this year, India’s Select Committee appointed Shubman Gill as captain, and Rishabh Pants was appointed his deputy.

Ravindra Jadeja is a senior player in the current team. He was appointed vice captain in Pants’ absence. Jadeja has never captained the Test side before.

The left-handed batsman last played for India in the Anderson Tendulkar 2025 Series, where he scored 516 runs, including the first century and the 50s, and scored seven wickets in five matches.

Jadeja is not part of the Indian campaign Asian Cup 2025. Suryakumar Yadav’s side has reached the final scheduled to be held in Dubai on September 28th. The team is scheduled to meet in Ahmedabad on September 29th, the day after the Asian Cup final.
