Chelsea could soon hit a player exchange as one club is open about signing a “clinical” blues ace that they didn’t think they were in Enzo Maresca’s long-term plan.

Bayern believes that Maresca can sign the “love” Chelsea star for just £35 million
The Bayerns feel the opportunity.
Combined with Maresca’s desire to continue to reinforce teams in key areas, Chelsea’s need to sell surplus team members, there are credible reports that the exchange could be an important transfer method at Stamford Bridge over the coming weeks.

Although Chelsea has been under pressure from UEFA to balance their exit and team after being fined for breaking the FFP rules recently (Kaveh Solhekol), Maresca is believed to want another major offensive signature following his struggle with the team on the low block last season (Simon Phillips).
Therefore, “unofficial swap deals” should be noted as it allows Chelsea to achieve both of these feats at the same time.
“The unofficial swap deal is that Chelsea and other clubs are doing a lot to balance the books of both clubs and keep them within the PSR rules,” journalist Simon Phillips recently wrote his Sassaravia.
“They really make sense and help both clubs get the deal done. They’re not like exchanges as such, they’re not like separate deals of favors. Chelsea still appreciates some opportunities for this.”
Early in the window, it was thought that this could happen when Christopher Nukank headed to Man United and Alejandro Garnacho (daily telegraph), but now there is a greater chance that another exchange will come to fruition.
Chelsea is actively pursuing RB Leipzig playmaker Xavi Simons, and after Liam Delap, Jamie Gittens and Joao Pedro, Blueco’s attempt to make the Dutch fourth major signing of the summer is considered to be in discussion with all sides.
Currently, according to Sky Germany’s Florian Plettenberg, serious interest in Leipzig midfielder Kearney Cukuuemeka could provide the opportunity for Maresca to add Simons while trimming the bloated book.
RB Leipzig pushed to sign Carney Chukwemeka at Chelsea talk
Staying on X, Plettenberg says Leipzig “pushed” to sign Chukwuemeka and launched a talk with Chelsea.
Former Aston Villa Gem was impressed by the loan at Borussia Dortmund for the second half of 2024/2025, and along with sports director Sebastian Kiel confirmed his intention to bring him back next season.
But Dortmund is now facing hijacking by their Bundesliga rivals, and dealing with Leipzig via Cchukwemeka is perfect for Chelsea, especially in an attempt to sign ahead of the hightelle ratings on the Premier League side.
Called a “clinical” player by Marcel Desailly, Chukwuemeka is destined to return to Germany’s top flight either way.
Reports say Chelsea wants the British to spend up to £40 million, but there are plenty of reasons why Bruco is trying to pamper himself with Simons’ “separate” talks to ease financial demands.
