Paul Felder believes Colby Covington has lost his advantage in recent years. “Chaos” is here to prove otherwise.
Earlier this month, Felder suggested that Covington was struggling to keep up with his “bullying from college” persona, which turned him from a boring fighter to a boring fighter of a big character. The catalyst for his comments came from the claim that the former three-time title challenger bowed his head and didn’t say a word when Paddy Pimblett crossed a pass with Covington in a power slap event. He’s far from the Trump-loving garbage speaker that Covington portrays on television and interviews.
After spending plenty of time with Felder behind the scenes, the former fighter becomes an analyst and considers playing ultra-deficit heels to be heavy in Covington.
“Chaos” disagrees.
“He was talking about me. Ah, he did this, and some other sh*t, I want him to ask the next time you meet him in person,” Covington told Submission Radio. “Ask him when he was at Langley Eustis’ joint base, Army and Air Force Base. And he was drunk on the base and was handcuffed by military police to the toilet in his bathroom.
“That’s embarrassing. You’re drunken holes. He must be drunk half the time. He’s in the UFC commentary booth. I’m in the UFC’s bad mood. They need to get a new commentator.
To be fair, at least Felder never called the officers after punching the sucker in the street by a man he had relentlessly sh*t thoked for months.
“We definitely have words,” Covington added. “I’ve been bringing that story closer to my heart for a long time and not sharing it. But when you start to throw my name out in the media and say things about me, does f*ck make Paul Felder earn non-UFC money?
“The guy is the ass. He’s beaten by everyone. He’s literally a UFC punching bag and he’s a self-loathing drunk**hole. So tied up in the odd porcelain toilet at a military base? You’re supposed to respect the army.
Colby Covington accused the folder of down a bottle of “jack” and telling the manager the garbage
Felder finally competed within the Octagon in 2020, suffering a back-to-back split decision loss against Dan Hooker and Rafael dos Anjos. Previously, it had scored five out of six, including a second round knockout by former UFC 218 lightweight title holder Charles Oliveira.
“So he drank like a Jack Daniels bottle,” Covington said. “He started talking to manager Brian Butler. I had to step in like Paul, like you’re not going to beat your manager.
“Here you’re trying to fight your manager. I had to step in and make sure he didn’t beat his manager, Brian Butler, with a sucker punch. And he goes into the hotel room and he starts throwing sh*t into the hotel room at the military facility base. And the military police are called.
Covington last played in December 2024, facing Joaquin Buckley of Tampa, Florida. The fight was stopped in the third round after “Chaos” received a nasty cut in his right eye. Of course, Covington pulled out all the excuses in the book, claiming that the cut was due to a headbutt from Buckley, and that it was unnecessarily stopped by the “Day Doctor” on duty that night.
The fact that Covington lost four of his final six was that his only victory was Tyron Woodley and Jorge Masvidal, with two fighters finishing the promotion with eight straight wins.
