Bayern Munich confirmed that Eric Deer would leave the club at the end of the season when his contract expired.
Speaking to the press on Friday, Bayern sports director Christophe Frond revealed that it was a decision made by the British defender himself.
“We discussed the new deal with Eric,” Freund said. “He told us he didn’t want to expand and would leave us. He’s a great guy. We had a great time together. Hopefully he crowned his time with us with his first title.”
Dier will start on Saturday with a possible clash with RB Leipzig at Red Bull Arena with Dayot Upamecano and Kim Min-Jae suffering from injuries.
Meanwhile, 31-year-old Dier is reportedly going to be joining as Monaco ahead of next season, with a two-year deal with Ligue 1 and an option to extend it for another 12 months.
