Ireland’s Prime Minister Missial Martin had a lot to say about Conor McGregor’s recent trip to the White House.
On St. Patrick’s Day, McGregor addressed members of the press to visit President Donald Trump in Washington, D.C. While there, the UFC megastar aimed to “suppose the issues faced by the Irish people,” claiming that “illegal immigrant rackets” were stealing the country from “Irish.”
“I’m here to raise the issues that Irish people face,” McGregor said. “The people of Ireland have never spoken about it.
“There are rural towns where illegal immigrant rackets are overrun in one dive.
Conor McGregor’s comments: “It does not reflect the views of the people of Ireland.”
McGregor’s comments sparked a strong response from Martin on social media.
“St. Patrick’s Day around the world is a day rooted in community, humanity, friendship and fellowship.
Deputy Prime Minister Simon Harris also returned to McGregor, adding that the former two-division champion did not speak on behalf of the Irish people as he was not in the US to represent Ireland.
“He doesn’t represent our worth. “He represents the very worst toxic masculinity.”
McGregor’s visit to the White House came just a week after Trump told Michelle Martin during a meeting that MMA fighter was his favorite Irishman.
