Arsenal reportedly targets a mid-range overhaul this summer, with Thomas Parti scheduled to leave at the end of the contract.
Mikel Arteta and the club hierarchy already line up potential alternatives.
Gunner was able to make a complete transformation mid-summer. There is a possibility of Thomas Part’s departure, and Arteta’s side will need a new addition in the middle for Giorguinho’s exit this summer.
The Premier League giants have already agreed to a deal to sign Martin Zubimendi from Real Sociedad, but they need more coverage in their midfield positions.
Arsenal has identified Brentford’s Norgard as targets
According to the mirror, Arsenal is considering potential moves for Brentford midfielder Christian Norgaard during the ongoing summer transfer period.
The 31-year-old Denmark International, who signed a new deal with Brentford earlier this year, remains in the current deal for two years, but could be a realistic target if gunners seek experienced reinforcements in the middle of the park.
As a manager at midfield base, his leadership and defensive insight were important to Premier League Brentford.
He has become one of the most reliable midfielders outside of traditional top six clubs, and has extensively praised his positioning recognition and ability to gain the ball.
Gunners need experience in the middle
Norgaard may not be a marquee to sign fans, but his addition could bring a valuable balance to the squad, aiming to compete on multiple fronts, including the Champions League.
He offers place competition, covering in defensive midfield, bringing plenty of top flights and international experience.
It remains to be seen whether Brentford is open to selling such influential figures, but Arsenal’s interest could change the minds of players this summer.
Gunners are also keeping an eye on Chelsea Winger’s Noni Maduce this summer.
