Liverpool and Arsenal are reportedly between clubs that have been contacted about a potential transfer move for Real Madrid forward Rodrigo Goes.
Brazil International appears to be facing an uncertain future with the Bernabeu ahead of this summer, and he has a suitor in the Premier League.
That’s according to a TBR Football report that names Liverpool, Arsenal and Manchester City as clubs interested in the unstable Rodrigo.
The 24-year-old isn’t his best lately, but in all club and country competitions this season, he still has an impressive total of 18 goals and seven assists.
Will Rodrigo go to leave Real Madrid?
Perhaps it seems like a Real Madrid gamble to get talent like Rodrigo to leave, but they still have enough depth to this day.
Rodrigo can play as a striker or on either side, but the versatility may not be enough to guarantee his regular playing time.
Therefore, if a large club like Liverpool or Arsenal is interested in him, it makes sense for players to take advantage of this opportunity to leave Madrid.
Does Rodrigo need to join Liverpool or Arsenal?
Rodrigo appears to fit well in Liverpool, giving centre-forward Darwin Nunes an upgrade or offering a wide range of options.
Catch off side With Luis Diaz’s future known to be uncertain ahead of this summer, Rodrigo could be a good option to fill in the remaining void on the left side of the Reds’ front three.
Arsenal, on the other hand, appears to be very close to a real deal, but needs more target threats. So Rodrigo is ideal to enter as an upgrade to things like Kai Herberts and Gabriel Jesus.
I imagine Mikel Arteta might feel that Rodrigo is a better option than being far apart from inconsistent duo Gabriel Martinelli and Leandro Trossard, but Raheem Sterling doesn’t make the loan permanent and needs to be replaced.
