Dallas Mavericks star Cooper Flagg continued to perform well in the NBA preseason.
This time, Cooper Flagg helped the Dallas Mavericks get a solid win over the Utah Jazz in the preseason.
In the 114-101 win, Flagg had 11 points, seven rebounds, and one assist in 21 minutes, improving the Mavs’ preseason record to 2-1.
In just three preseason games, Flagg has already shown improvement in his game. The No. 1 overall pick in the 2025 NBA Draft is not a one-trick pony on the hardwood.
He can score, rebound, and assist his teammates whenever needed. As for his scoring, Flagg completed an athletic one-handed slam during the third quarter.
It was a great dunk, but Flagg landed awkwardly on the basketball and nearly injured his ankle. Mavs fans were quick to share their reactions about what could have been a severe injury.
“He almost broke his ankle when he landed on the ball,” one fan wrote. “He really scared me,” another added.
“Then I got hit by a ball and almost broke my ankle,” added a third fan.
“The entire Mavs coaching staff had a heart attack at the end of that play,” a fourth fan pointed out.
“The fall that followed made me nervous,” said a fifth fan.
Considering injuries have derailed the Mavericks’ 2024-25 season, it’s natural for fans to be concerned about the future of the franchise.

The matchup between the Mavericks and the Jazz was expected to be a showdown between Flagg and Ace Bailey.
Flagg escaped injury, but rival Bailey suffered a knee injury in the first half and was forced to leave early.
Thankfully, the injury is not too serious, according to Jazz head coach Will Hardy.
“He’s got tendonitis in both knees. It’s not something we’re overly concerned about,” Hardy said, according to Sports Illustrated.
Bailey had a phenomenal preseason performance, but fans will have to wait until the regular season to see him play against the flag for the second time.
