The New Orleans Pelicans ended their NBA Summer League campaign without winning, but the franchise got a glimpse of what the lottery can expect from Jeremiah’s horror.
The University of Oklahoma player was drafted seventh overall by the New Orleans Pelican in the 2025 NBA Draft after a great NCAA Tournament.
Pers’ summer league coach praised speed, even before the summer league tip-off. It’s safe to say that Jeremiah’s fears have endured the hype.
Despite winning in five games, the horror provided some great performances, but coach Corey Brewer believes one aspect of his game still needs improvement.
Fears averaged 17.4 ppg, 3.8 RPG and 2.8 APG in five summer league matches.
However, he shot an inefficient 40% off the field, with only 18% of shots over the arc coming in.
The Chicago native also had five turnovers per game, which is not good for the NBA point guard.
After the Pelicans’ defeat against the Denver Nuggets, manager Brewer was asked which area of the game he needed to tackle.
He said:
“It’s going to hurt more for him. Even this year, he’ll have to learn from games to games.”
Brewer, who previously played in the NBA, said by the mid-season of his rookie year, fear would become a completely different player.
“His decisions have been much better. In the first two games of the final game, he made better reads and everyone got open shots. He continues to get better, he’s 18 years old.
“Everything Jeremiah is learning, it’s new. He’s going to be a completely different player in Game 40 or 50 next year,” Brewer added.
Fear achieved a unique feat by becoming the only lottery to play every game of the NBA Summer League.
Things like Cooper Flag and Ace Bailey had closed their early doors, but continued to compete for the Pelican.
He was caught up in arguments several times against opponents.
The 18-year-old has great aspirations as he wants to be known as a top two-point guard.
His numbers in the summer league were decent, but the most impressive attributes of fear were available to his team.
When asked what appears in all five summer league matches, Brewer added:
“He really wanted to win. We didn’t win, but we know he fought his __.”
