Arsenal is not ready to sit in glory and see Liverpool get one hand in the Premier League title ahead of the 2025/26 season.
Merseysiders already bring in Jeremie Frimpong, and Bayer Leverkusen’s teammate Florian Wirtz is doomed to follow in front of the summer window.
The Mikel Arteta man appears to respond with the movements of one of Benjamin Sesko or Viktor Gyoker from Sporting Lisbon.
It is not yet clear what sports director Andrea Berta will prioritize.
Arsenal needs top strikers like Benjamin Sesco
From a translational perspective, we must argue that Sesko will be a more ideal opportunity. The Bundesliga is much closer to quality and style, with respect than Portugal’s top flights.
That said, we can allow Arsenal decision makers to be a bit drool this season, seeing Gyokeres 54 goals and 13 assists (in all competitions).
Christian Faulk now reports that the gunner is not alone in pursuit of Benjamin Sesco. More importantly, Manchester United were able to rely on Christopher Bibel’s expertise and connection to beat Arsenal to punch.
“Arsenal has stopped the recruitment drive and declared Benjamin Sesco or Victor Guiljocheles (Sports Lisbon) as his favorite targets. RB Leipzig wants to talk for over 70 million euros. The head of soccer at Bild Group has notified only of CatedOffside.
“Despite his younger age, the Slovenian is almost perfect, has a clear head and is a real team player. He is an asset to any club. He has already been in talks with Arsenal.
“From the Premier League, Manchester United is particularly interested in its side of Arsenal. Christopher Vivell (United Director of Recruitment) was there to watch Sesco at the Wolfsburg match in mid-April.
It seems that United’s misuse is a rather slim advantage. Still, it could potentially rise to £84.3 million (€100 million), so Arsenal could opt for Viktor Gyoker’s relatively inexpensive option for £60 million if they want their needs.
Our in-house Arsenal expert (and catch-offside editor) Mark Bullus said this about the North London-based costume striker.
“With no Arsenal’s current team reaching double digits of league goals in 2024/25, the need for a new striker is clear and has long been understood as a priority this summer.
“There was a real interest in Ollie Watkins in January, but Arsenal preferred to wait until the summer to eventually acquire men. Mikel Arteta has been a huge Benjamin Sesco fan for a while.
“It’s not the easiest market for strikers right now, and it appears that Arsenal will likely try to improve its offensive power by signing a top winger late in the window.”
Is Viktor Gyoker worth gambling?
Arsenal could potentially afford to spend some time considering table options. Unlike the Red Devils, Mikel Arteta men can offer Striker Champions League football and real cracks in the upcoming Premier League title race.
You might suspect United will have a hard time overcoming either hurdle in the near future, especially if their postseason campaign takes anything.

Of course, Gyoker’s numbers are absolutely indecent. However, judging by the heat map for the 2024/25 season, it is worth pointing out that the Swedes appear to enjoy a considerable amount of freedom in the conflicting penalty box.
This may suggest that the sports star’s superior ability to find space within an 18-yard box, his teammate’s ability to find him, or the comparative quality between both leagues.
Viktor Gyokeres is a serious beneficiary of the latter point, and it may reasonably be assumed that Bundesliga’s defense is much better on average.
In any case, Arsenal can argue for Benjamin Sesco’s potential (age 22) and the reasonable possibility of expanding his numbers through development and placement on a stronger team.
Gyoker’s numbers could, of course, still be satisfying, even if they scale as expected along the quality shift to the Premier League.
