Liverpool and the world of football are in mourning after Diogo Jota tragically died at just 28 years old.
The Manchester United legend shared a deep emotional message on X in response to the shocking news, recalling the last moment with the wolf before.
“That doesn’t make sense.” He wrote the captain of Portugal.
“We were just together on the national team, you just got married.
“To your family, your wife, and your children, I send my pitiful dol and hope for them all the strength of the world. I know you will always be with them.
“Resting in peace, Diogo and Andre. We all miss you.”
Jota recently represented his country, supporting his victory in the UEFA Nations League and featured prominently on the Liverpool team, which won the Arne Slot title last season.
The 28-year-old, who joined the Reds from the Wolves in 2020, has scored 65 goals in the club’s 182 appearances, establishing himself as a valuable asset at the frontline.

Portugal International had a major impact while working for Merseyside, including important contributions in both domestic and European competitions.
Jota’s ability to play beyond the front line gave him an ideal fit for Jurgen Klopp’s system, and the German became a huge fan of the forward during his tenure at Anfield.
After taking part in an emotional international victory with Ronaldo this summer, Jota was scheduled to return to pre-season training next week and compete for his place with Arneslot’s Liverpool team.
The statement is now released on liverpoolfc.com, and in the past few hours, pouring of love has been sent from the whole world of football.
Jota’s death comes with the death of his brother and fellow soccer player Andre.
