Crystal Palace are planning a raid on rivals West Ham United in a bid to sign defensive mainstay Max Kilman.
The Eagles are preparing for life without Mark Gehi. Oliver Glasner’s team are exploring the market for potential replacements as their captain’s future is up in the air due to his contract situation.
Crystal Palace are eyeing West Ham United’s Max Kilman, according to a report from Football Insider. The Eagles could make a move to sign the 28-year-old in the upcoming transfer window.
Mr. Guehi is scheduled to retire in 2026.
Guehi was on the verge of leaving Selhurst Park this summer. Liverpool had an agreement with the Eagles. However, Stephen Parish blocked the move in the 11th hour.
The 25-year-old continues to wear the armband at Crystal Palace, but his future remains uncertain. His contract expires at the end of the season, and there is no prospect of a new contract. He could either leave the club midway through the season or terminate his contract and become a free agent next summer.
Kilman could replace Guehi at Crystal Palace
The Eagles planned for his eventual departure and decided Kilman was the perfect replacement. He is a proven Premier League star with a wealth of experience and could definitely help the Premier League cause.
However, signing him will not be so easy for various reasons. His contract runs until the summer of 2031 and the Hammers, who spent £40m to sign him, will seek a hefty fee to let him leave.
Meanwhile, the arrival of Nuno Espirito Santo has further complicated the situation. The Portuguese manager, who was appointed last month, is thought to be a huge admirer of the 28-year-old centre-back. He may want to make him one of his main players in the future, having worked together with him at Wolves.
