Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) will face Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in their 30th match IPL 2025 On April 14th, Bharat Ratna Shuria Tarbi Harivappai Ekana Cricket Stadium, Lucknow.
LSG took a behind-the-scenes victory against MI and KKR after getting off to a volatile start against DC in the first match of the tournament. The Rishabh Pant-led side will continue to do good work in the upcoming matches against Chennai Super Kings.
Meanwhile, former Champions CSK finds himself in unfamiliar territory, losing five times in the tournament history for the first time, aiming to return to a victory victory over LSG.
11 vs LSG-IPL 2025, CSK to play Match 30:
Openers: Devon Conway and Raychin Rabindra
Devon Conway opens up the innings for CSK along with Raychin Rabindra. The duo attempts to correct mistakes in their final match against KKR and aims to play with an offensive approach in the first six overs
As far as Rachin Ravindra’s performance is concerned, the left-hander started the tournament in a half-century match against MI, but was unable to carry form in the last few matches
Meanwhile, Conway, who won half a century against PBK, is in a similar situation to Rabindra and is one of the CSK batsmen who have not lived up to the expectations of Chennai Super Kings.
Intermediate batters and all-rounders: Rahu Tripathi, Shivam Dube, Vijay Shankar, Ravindra Jadeja, MS Dhoni (C and WK)
The opening duo of Ravindra and Conway is followed by Rahul Tripathi Gaikwad and Shivam Dube. Tripathi, who replaced Ruturaj Gaikwad in his final match against KKR, is looking to make the most of the opportunity in his upcoming game against LSG
All-rounder Shivam Duve, who has played as an impact replacement for the past few seasons, has been criticized for batting at a slow pace, especially in the final five overs with KKR, and wants to get it right in his match against LSG.
Bowlers: Ravichandran Ashwin, Noor Ahmad, Matheesha Pathirana, Khaleel Ahmed, Anshul Kamboj
The Chennai Super Kings want their batters to do a batter show against LSG, so that bowlers have a challenging score to defend together with Ashwin. There were only 103 players in total to compete against KKR.
That being said, the spinner, once considered the strength of the Chennai Super Kings, has not been able to deliver solid performances in the tournament up until now.
CSK has two of the tournament’s top five leading wicket takers at their disposal, but the five-time champions have found it difficult to limit opposition parties below the 180 run score, as they are unable to pick wickets in the middle and the final five overs.
