Opener: Rachin Ravindra, Rahul Tripathi
Chennai Super Kings is expected to continue the same opening combination of Raychin Rabindra and Rahul Tripati. Rahul Tripathi was fired early against MI, but CSK is known for giving players long ropes.
As far as Rachin Ravindra is concerned, the left-handers have held CSK’s innings together at Chepauk’s blunt wickets and have gone on to do the same in the CSK vs RCB match.
Intermediate batters and all-rounders: Ruturaj Gaikwad, Shivam Dube, Deepak Hooda, Sam Quran, Ravidra Jadeja, MS Dhibni (WK)
Following the opening duo, they will employ Captain Luthu Rajgai Quad, Shivam Duve and Deepak Hooder. Captain Luthu Rajgai Quad aims to build on the good shape he showed in his opening match with MI.
Deepak Hoodha, part of the Chennai Super Kings this year, is aiming to deliver a strong performance alongside Dube, who is looking to win a middle-over spinner, as he did at 162 strike rates last season.
Sam Curran and Rabindra Jadeja come in to No. 6 and No. 7 respectively, giving the CSK batting depth and a move that gives the batter the much needed freedom to go from the first ball to their shot with No. 8 dhoni batting.
Bowlers: Nathan Ellis, Ravichandran Ashwin, Noor Ahmad, Karel Ahmed
The opening match of CSK of the season witnessed Ravichandran Ashwin returning to Chepork as he picked up a key wicket from Willjacks and gave good support to Noor Ahmad, who picked up four wickets.
The fast bowling department will take care of Khaleel Ahmed and Nathan Ellis, who picked up wickets at a critical stage in the team.
