Tottenham Planning Midfield Renewal
There are indications that Tottenham plans to revamp the midfield during the summer transfer period, and recently made its first move to sign Sunderland’s Chris Rigg with a £38 million offer.
Hayden Hackney of Middlesbrough, another name on the Spurs shortlist, recently entered the race for the 22-year-old midfielder.
Plans to sell Bisma in the summer are said to have been approved, and the 28-year-old will play a more sporadic role in the Premier League this season, often limited to appearing as an alternative.

Ange Postecoglou can issue a statement signing in the offseason.
Everton is interested in signing the former Brighton guy, and while Tottenham is now ready to sell, he is not the only central midfielder trying to cash in this summer.
Postcoglo is unhappy with his options in the middle of the park, making him doubt the future of Rodrigo Bentancourt.
“Ange Postecoglou is not satisfied with his midfield options. It was a very important area of the team and there were not enough players at his disposal.
“When they were called up so far this season, they failed to impress, and Bentancur is not part of Tottenham’s plan now.
“So if they can drive him away and bring him a decent fee, that’s definitely something they’ll consider. I’ve heard there are clubs in Europe that have seen the summer moves.”
Bentancur impresses defensively
It was a disappointing season for Tottenham, and Bentancur was not outstanding.
That said, some of the Uruguiron’s defensive performances over the past year show that he is worth keeping that he is highly ranked in some key metrics compared to his positioning peers.

However, the defensive contributions of weekly midfielders cannot be questioned. So, while it will feel a bit harsh for Tottenham to sanction departures this summer, reports from February show that Bentanchour could also sign a new contract.
