Damien Lillard shared what he said to the Milwaukee Bucks franchise while signing Star Guard in the offseason
The Milwaukee Bucks managed to win a 117-101 victory in Game 3 of the NBA playoffs against the Indiana Pacers.
Again, he scored 37 points, grabbed 12 boards, thrown six dimes and was a big Giannis Anteto Compo performance while shooting an efficient 73.7% off the field.
Antetokounmpo coincides with the old records of Wilt Chamberlain in Game 2 and will always be present in the series.
Another big performance of the Bucks in Game 3 came from Gary Trent Jr., who scored 37 points in the evening.
Trent Jr. was comparable to NBA legend Ray Allen’s record as he shot nine three-pointers in the game.
Antetokounmpo and he also became the first Bucks duo to score more than 35 points in the playoff game.
Bucks guard Damien Lillard revealed what he said to the franchise before taking him in the offseason after dropping a great performance.
Trent Jr. was at his efficient best for the night as he shot 68.8% from the winning field.
In addition to scoring, he was also trapped in defensively stealing the ball in the game four times.
Lillard and Trent Jr. were teammates during their stint with the Portland Trail Blazers. The former revealed that the Game 3 star performer told the franchise he was one of the most confident players he’s played in his career.
Speaking about Trent Jr. at a postgame press conference, Lillard said:
“He’s an unshakable guy. He’s very stubborn. He’s a man who never folds, and when the moment comes, he’s there.”
Lillard also revealed that he was not shocked to see Trent Jr. having a big playoff game.
“When he has a performance like tonight, I know how much he believes in himself. This type of game won’t surprise me.
Before Game 3, it didn’t affect the 26-year-old series, leading to a loss for the Bucks in the first two games of the series.
Lillard has returned from his injury, but he is still calm and unable to produce any big numbers, so the Bucks will need Trent Jr. to fire.
They also have Kyle Kuzma, but after his awful Game 1 performance, they can’t put much faith in him.
Trent Jr. was a great addition to the Bucks as he has contributed to them at both ends of the floor.
Antetokounmpo will continue to make an impact, but without support he will not be able to lead the Bucks to victory.
This is something the team couldn’t do in games 1 and 2, but Game 3 was a step in the right direction.
They hope that Trent Jr. continues and Lillard step up in Game 4.
