Dana White has promised a once-in-a-lifetime experience for several fighters taking part in the still-developed event of promotions at the White House.
Earlier this month, US President Donald Trump announced plans to hold a UFC event at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue, giving him an advantage to celebrate his 250th birthday.
Initially, the comments looked like another odd claim from the fighting Potus, but according to White, the plan was already in motion, even before Trump made the improvisational declaration.
“No, (Trump wasn’t saying he was going to announce it),” White said during his appearance on the Full Send Podcast. “My team was already walking through the White House. We’re doing all the logistics. We’re putting together the layout now and we’ll be pitching it to him in the next week or two weeks.
Since the possibility of fighting on the White House lawn became a very realistic possibility, fighters have tripped themselves up trying to get card locations.
Dana White says that next year only a few people competing in the country’s capital say
As White says, opportunities are very limited, but for those lucky enough to make a cut, it’s not what they’ve done so far in their respective careers.
“First of all, I don’t know how many people will be in, let alone that Secret Service won’t let a lot of people attend,” White continued. “Everyone needs a background check,” White said. “Everyone there live shows will have a unique, once-in-a-lifetime experience.
“While we’re filming, one side of the background is the White House and the other is a Washington monument. I don’t think we’re going to sell tickets. It’s all a comp ticket.”
Although no official timeline is provided, White points out that it is still a year away from the proposed event, suggesting that it could all fall or fall around the weekend of July 4th, 2026.
“Literally, everyone wants to fight with this card. Everyone,” White said. “It’s here. We’re still a year away. The UFC landscape will change over the next year, so we’ll see where we are.
