In Daniel Furnza’s UFC debut, things didn’t take place according to plans.
After recording an impressive second round knockout against Vadym Kutsyi in the Dana White contender series in September, “Tigano” held a promotional premiere at UFC Vegas 105 in Las Vegas on Saturday night in Las Vegas.
Previously won within the Octagon, Mackie was desperate for a victory, delivering the best performance of a UFC career to date, posting Furunza from the pillar to the post, knocking down three incredible three times in the opening round.
To Frunza’s achievements, he never retreated and eventually kicked it out of the round, but by then the damage had already been done.
Frunza’s UFC debut was stopped by a doctor at Cageside
Frunza’s right eye was virtually swollen and closed with a small tear beneath it. But that didn’t urge the cageside doctors to call for a centre stop.
It was actually a horrible injury to Hunza’s upper lip. Fans didn’t watch TV injuries very closely, but Dana White packed fans with incredible graphic injuries.
You are being warned.
This image is very reminiscent of Alistair Overeem’s nasty lip injuries to Jairzinho Rozenstruik in 2019.
The defeat dropped Franza to 9-3 in his mixed martial arts career, and Mackie improved to 14-6-1. He is currently 1-4 in the UFC.
