Melchizael Costa’s decision victory over Julian Erosa looks even more impressive now.
Costa won his third 2025 victory in the opening game of the UFC Vegas 106 featherweight main card at UFC Apex on Saturday. The 28-year-old won his fourth consecutive victory, but it came for a small price.
After the victory, UFC CEO Dana White shared the video on an Instagram story showing nasty gouache in one of Costa’s toe wrinkles. At first it seemed like a cut, but those working on the Costa toes could peel it off with a touch and see the inside of the area.
Check out the still shots of White’s video below.

The good news is that Costa’s toes got stitching to close the troublesome wounds.

“Melk Cauthy” looked like a player, one of the deepest departments of the promotion. He has won over an 85-day span. Before the fierce battle victory over Erosa, Costa made a decision on UFC Mexico’s Christian Rodriguez, earning back-to-back submission wins over longtime UFC veterans Andre Fili and Sheylan Nuerdanbieque.
Costa was 5-2 in the Octagon, with the only promotional loss coming to Steve Garcia and Thiago Mois. This was made in his short notice UFC debut.
