Daniel Cormier believes John Jones will ultimately fight Tom Aspinel.
For almost two years, one of the biggest stories in MMA was the potential battle for the heavyweight title between Jones and Aspinel, which rarely showed. UFC CEO Dana White claims that at some point the fight will happen, but Jones has become increasingly inexplicable and less committed to the match, but Aspinall is waiting for an opportunity to unify the title. And, according to Cormier, hold-up is Jones agreeing with a new reality. He is suddenly an elderly man in sports.
“John is now a 38-year-old man, a 30-year-old man, it’s younger, fresher, going – it’s turned upside down,” Colmier said on his YouTube channel. “‘I can’t see any wear or tear on their faces anymore. I can see my wear and tear,” he saw it at Stipe (Miocic), who had been much older since then.
“He’s not scared, he doesn’t make any mistakes about it. But you know that he thinks it’s a big concern for him? He could potentially be knocked out. A scary visual every time.”
Jones has never been knocked out in the competition. Meanwhile, Aspinall knocked out his past three opponents with a 3 minutes and 22 seconds of combat time. That’s part of what makes matchups so persuasive for fans, it’s probably the best fighter of all time and perhaps the most dangerous challenge ever. But at this point, fans seem to have lost hope that the match will happen. But if he doesn’t let him leave for reasons other than Jones’ ego, Cormier still believes.
“I don’t know that he’s free without fighting him, because the vision and persistent thoughts are “he ran out of him.” “The idea that people think he is afraid means more for him than he gets out there and fights him and takes a chance.
“There’s a real possibility that he’s out there and he’s on top of Tom Aspinol. I think you’re going to fight him. I don’t think they need to fight him. I think he’ll fight him. The idea that he ran would be too much pull for him as he moves into the next stage of his career.”
