Daniel Cormier believes Michael Chandler is the most likely to lose in UFC 314.
Former Bellator Champion Chandler (23-9 MMA, 2-4 UFC) will win Paddy Pimblett (22-3 MMA, 6-0 UFC) in Saturday’s five-round co-headliners (Pay-Per-View, ESPN, ESPN+) at Kaseya Center in Miami. Cormier claims that Chandler’s four losses in the UFC came to the big name and former champion. However, if Chandler loses to rising competitor Pinblett, Cormier says it will set him back in a big way.
“I previously asked if Volk is under the most pressure, but that’s not. I think Chandler has more pressure,” Comier said in “Good Guy/Bad Guy” with Chael Sonnen. “Why do you want me to tell you? I found Michael Chandler in a very, very difficult-to-reach team. Will he win or lose, or anything affect him? He knocked out Dan Hooker and Tony Ferguson lost.
“Yeah, it’s not that big of a deal. He and Dustin Poirier, he loses. ‘Yeah, that was a great fight,’ but Dustin did the job. He made him submit. If he loses again, he has won twice.
After waiting more than a year to fight Conor McGregor – a matchup booked at UFC 303 last June but discarded when McGregor retreated – Chandler moved by running things with Charles Oliveira at UFC 309 this November. He lost the match by unanimous decision.
