Danny Kent will begin the final chapter of Martrain’s British superbike adventure this weekend at Donington Park.
The team currently competing under MCAMS Yamaha Banner announced earlier this week that they would return from the race at the end of the season, leaving Kent’s long-term future uncertain.
But for now, the 2015 Moto3 World Champion is focusing on his victory and joining the podium in the final event before the BSB showdown.
Kent currently sits fourth in the rankings, earning two more wins and several Podium finishes at Thruxton in his breakthrough victory at Brand Hatch last year.
“I’m excited to go back to the familiar circuit in Donington Park,” Kent said.
“As expected, Cadwell has brought challenges, but our speed is clear and it gives the whole team confidence to move forward.
“Donington has always been a strong track for me, and has won several podiums in the past, and we want to build that history this weekend and achieve the same level of performance.”
Despite the looming exit, team owner Tim Martin claims it is morale high.
“The change to the four-race format will be a tough round, but it will increase the chances of showing us what we can do,” Martin said.
“Danny is in great shape and we know that with progressing together this season, we have a pace to challenge a sharp end.
“Donington has always been a circuit we did well and we have been on the podium here last year, so there are all the reasons to keep repeating that success and hopefully believe it will be even better.
“The garage vibe is positive, everyone is working perfectly. The purpose is clear: to deliver stronger results and continue to gain momentum in the final stages of the championship.”
