The Los Angeles had an unpredictable season with injuries, poor bullpen play, off-field struggles and almost everything in between, but manager Dave Roberts believes superstar Shohai Otani has won his fourth MVP award.
If the talent in the batter’s box wasn’t enough, Roberts also cultivated Otani’s job as a starting pitcher, earning his third MVP honor and fourth in five years.

“What he did with the bat and now he did on the mound, that’s a landslide,” Roberts said. “That’s not easy. The only thing I hope some of those voters get voter fatigue just because it’s the easiest option.”
Otanizaza Lager has proven to be as deadly as last season. He is third in MLB with 54 home runs and leads the National League with a .616 slugging percentage and 1.006 OPS. He also leads MLB with 144 runs and a total of 373 bases.
The man who has done the unfortunate job of spending such a season on the same timeline as Ohatani, has designated the Philadelphia Phillies batsman Kyle Schwarber.
The three-time All-Star leads the NL with 56 long balls, leading the majors with 132 RBIs, and has a career-high 4.8 Bwar. Schwarber does this too, but his Phillies have the second best record in the majors As of Saturday it was 95-65.
Based on purely offensive metrics, Otani leads Schwarber in everything but RBI (tracks him at 31) and home runs (runs him one by one). What other MVP candidates probably can’t do while leading the league in most of their offensive statistics is a fastball average of 98.1 mph in the same season.
The pitcher otani has proven to be a different animal, but the same animal as the diamond.
He’s only walked nine, pitching 2.87 ERAs in 47 innings and hitting 62 batters. His fastball ranks in the 95th percentile overall majors, with both his sliders and curveballs drawing just .154 batting averages against this season.
Schwarber has an undeniably dominant season with batter boxes, and does so for a team with one of the best records in baseball, but largely There is no universe where precious players, their honor is not given to Otanis who do it on the plate or mound.
