The Los Angeles won another tense matchup with the San Diego Padres on Tuesday night.
Manager Dave Roberts collected his 13th carrier emissions as his temperament reignited. Shohei Ohtani was hit by a pitch thrown by Padres right-handed Randi Vasquez. This caused the skipper to argue vigorously with the referee after being given warnings to both teams.

“For me, if they feel they’re guaranteed to their side, which is part of baseball, that’s what they feel,” Roberts said of the warning. “(Vasquez) hit him on his leg, so I give him credit. I own it and we move on.”
Roberts added that he felt the hits on the pitch were “absolutely” intentional.
Roberts also spoke about what appeared to have been trying to hit Vazquez’s Otani.
“Vasquez took him one shot and hit him again,” Roberts said. “It’s very difficult to overlook something so bad with a right-handed pitcher. For me, if you’re going to do it, own it.”
Center fielder Andy Page, who was involved in his HBP in Monday’s series opener, spoke about what it means for his skipper to fight passionately for his team.
“When that happens, it burns us,” Page said of Roberts. “He was trying to protect his players.”
In the opening game of the series on Monday, Page appeared to be stopping Padres right-handed Dylan from plunging him in the four innings, resulting in a fierce gaze from the young outfielder.
After Monday’s match, Manny Machado said the page hit ominously Could not “Because if they want to hit someone, they’ve got more superstars over there.”
There was no superstar in Diamond as big as Otani on Tuesday night, so after the pitch missed him a little before he stayed on his thigh, Roberts had plenty of reason to justify Emission No. 13.
