The Los Angeles control owner Mark Walter and purchased a majority ownership of the Los Angeles Lakers from the Bass family at a valuation of around $10 billion. This was the biggest sales of professional sports franchises in the world.
When the Lakers were the arrival of the Luca Donsic era, the organization could not equip Walter to take the helm. The have won the postseason every year since 2013, winning 11 of the 12 division titles since Walter bought Guggenheim Baseball Management and the team for $2.15 billion.

Manager Dave Roberts has made two important requests to Walter as he intends to manage the NBA franchise. Shohei Ohtani is a two-way star in major league baseball, but the skipper doesn’t want Walter to poach him for the Lakers.
“I’ll take off Shohei’s hand,” Roberts said with a laugh. “They got plenty of superstars in purple and gold. Leave him alone.”
Otani returned to two-way status on Monday, with the right-hander making his first start with the San Diego Padres since August 2023. Lakers member Otani takes his two-way player to a whole new level.
Roberts’ second request is equally interesting, but perhaps more personal.
Roberts would like to sit courtside at the Lakers game.
“I’m sure a lot of people have marked up,” Roberts said. “But I might add myself to the list.”
