The Los Angeles have been hit quite heavily on the pitching roster this season, but the former All-Star reliever wants to bolster his troubled bullpen.
Right-handed Alexis Diaz was bought out of the Cincinnati Red last Tuesday and is working to regain his production for the 2023 campaign featuring 37 saves and a 3.07 ERA. He is currently at the Spring Training Complex in LA, Arizona, where he is on track working with his performance coach.

Dias began to go down in 2024 and things seemed to have declined even further in 2025. Much of this could be attributed to his steady decline in fastball speed since 2022.
After 28 saves last season, Diaz began with 12.00 ERA from six appearances before being sent to Triple A this season. Manager Dave Roberts believes that after the 14-year-old contestant and minor ERA 4.61 ERA, the 28-year-old could one day succeed in the show.
“I don’t know the timeline,” Roberts said. “I think it’s really conditional on how quickly he takes some of the things we see and what it will turn out, but you don’t think it’s too long before he joins us.”
Diaz is the younger brother of Edwin Diaz, a New York Mets All-Star close relative. Elder Diaz has won the Reliever of the Year awards in both the AL and NL.
Diaz has proven that he has what he needs to succeed at the MLB level, genetically and more importantly, with diamonds. For himself and his new team, he aims to thrive again on the show.
