Roberts said Hernandez’s injury was “a bit of a concern.” Roberts added that Hernandez will be on an MRI on Tuesday after feeling tense in his hamstrings and adductors.
Hernández has already hit a .315 with an OPS of .933 this season, adding nine dingers and 34 RBIs, making it a hot start.
The are currently playing the Marlins with 13 Winns, but the next series is a four-game set with the division rival Arizona Diamondbacks, which closes out their 10-game road trip.
The hope that the MRI will not reveal anything too important, and Hernandez will be able to return to the field sooner than later.
Roberts said that if the team is forced to take someone to Miami on a taxi team and put Hernandez on the injured list, they will potentially activate them. That decision will be made on Tuesday.
