The Los Angeles are one of the most feared super teams in MLB.
According to their manager, the outstanding roster is led by characters like Shohei Ohtani’s superhero.

At first glance, the entire country of Japan is obsessed with the legend of Otani and was fully exhibited last week as part of the MLB Tokyo series.
The and Chicago Cubs played two exhibit games against the Hansin Tigers and the Yomiuri Giants, and then the and Chicago Cubs played the regular season game duo against each other to kick off the 2025 season.
Dave Roberts, a manager born in Okinawa, Japan, spoke directly about the impact that the three MVP had in his home country.
“You know, I know Shohei wears pants just like we all. One foot at a time is one foot. But when there are superheroes, I think Shohei seems like a superhero,” Roberts said. “In the biggest games and biggest moments, he seems to be offering it all the time.”
In two regular season games at Tokyo Dome, Otani had three hits, an RBI and a home run.
Last season, Otani, the first of his 10-year contract with the , did more than just deliveries.
In addition to winning the National League MVP Award, Otani became the first player in MLB history, hitting over 50 home runs and stealing over 50 bases in the same season. Perhaps most importantly, he led the to their eighth World Series victory.
Otani hasn’t pitched since the 2023 season and is still up to make a comeback on the much-anticipated mound, and will do so for the first time in the uniform at some point this season.
The two-way star’s impact is immeasurable to the Japanese people, especially at such a historic opening to the MLB season, but Otani remains a hero.
