The Los Angeles suffered countless injuries throughout the 2025 season, but a major bright spot came out of the dark illness in the lineup in the form of Heason Kim.
Originally earning this offseason from the Korean baseball organization, Kim was aiming to win four Gold Globes from overseas to become Los Angeles’ second baseman every day. The obvious question regarding the difference between MLB pitcher speed and KBO pitcher was certainly Kim’s adjustment as he was about to start the year at Triple A Oklahoma City.

Kim, who was paired with several important injuries, including Tommy Edman hitting .252 with 19 RBI in the minors this season, was ready to make his debut in MLB.
He had an immediate impact on the despite not taking a plate until his third game with the team. Kim’s first start came on Monday, and he gathered his first major league hit, RBI and another stolen base. Since then he has collected hits in the back game and influenced the game with his feet and defense.
Manager Dave Roberts spoke about the impact Kim has already had on the ball club.
“To be honest, I think everyone loves Heisenkim,” Roberts said. “Everyone is. Everyone is pulling for him. Everyone is happy. He is just a great teammate. I think there is just humility. I think people appreciate just authenticity. He is just a nice guy.
“He’s just adding that spark to our ball club.”
Regardless of how long Kim stays with the team, whether it exceeds Edman’s time in IL or not, he makes the most of his moments and proves why he deserves a major spot.
