Los Angeles utility man Quique Hernandez is not in the starting lineup for Saturday’s game, but Dave Roberts says he will be available from the bench.

Hernandez was dealing with a stomach illness that prevented him from attending the ‘ home opener on Thursday. Fan favorites didn’t miss Friday’s Championship Ring ceremony, but were unable to play as they tried to regain strength from their illness.
While Hernández returns to the team, the will not start the short stop Mookie Betts in the series finale. But Betts is simply taking a break, so fans can sigh in relief.
Roberts revealed the reason behind his absence from the 32-year-old lineup because he hasn’t played three games in a row since he got sick. Nonetheless, Betts is expected to become a daily starter as the season continues.
Although Hernandez had speculated that he had the same illness Betts he fought before, Roberts said he thought the had no connection between the two incidents.
“We felt it was going to happen soon,” he said.
Hernandez played in both games in the Tokyo Series with the Chicago Cubs, hitting a three-run homer in a historic international matchup. Fan favorites also went 5-1 in all three games in the Freeway series with the Los Angeles Angels.
