There was a lot to be excited as the Los Angeles were on their way to beat the Cincinnati Reds in Wild Card Game 1 on Tuesday evening. The attack was fired on all cylinders, Blakesnell had gone through seven innings and Energy was sensational at Stadium.
The bullpen then took part in the game.

Alex Vesia, Edgardo Henriquez and Jack Dreyer’s 59-pitch innings brought in three acquisitions, four walks and one strikeout. It also brought a comfortable 10-2 game to a much more nervous 10-5.
Though not listed on the wildcard roster (due to a 94-pitch outing on Sunday), the future Hall of Fame Clayton Car Show is considered a potential option to provide relief to the bullpen situation in October. When manager Dave Roberts was asked if the would include three Cy Young Award winners on the NLDS roster, he appeared to be counting minutes until the moved forward.
“If we’re lucky enough,” Roberts said, “He’ll be on the DS roster, yes.”
Unfortunately, the bullpen struggles aren’t new to LA this season, and the relief pitcher, who left a sour taste after the starting pitcher threw a gem, had a familiar feeling in September. If the want to become the first recurring champion of baseball in 25 years, these performances are unacceptable.
The eighth support that entered the eight innings was a luxury the had on Tuesday, but as the soldiers in October go, they need more weapons than LA can rely on.
Perhaps this is where the Car Show shines, assuming there is an NLD for the .
The 11th All-Star has a 1.69 ERA on his final three outings, one of which was the appearance of relief in high-level situations against the Arizona Diamondbacks. There is a big difference between regular season games and October, but the Car Show appears to be one of the best options for LA at this point.
