Los Angeles manager Dave Roberts said his absence from Freddie Freeman’s lineup is a scheduled holiday.

“He was going to take a break from today or tomorrow. “I wasn’t going to play six straight games, so I’ll run him three against the Rockies because I felt that today was going to be the best day.”
Freeman was launched from the injured list hours before his first pitch on Friday. The first base hand missed nine games when dealing with sprain in the right ankle.
Freeman was injured when he collapsed in the shower, but his most concern about the illness was his ankle interference that he was injured last season. Freeman doesn’t like to miss out on time, but he made it clear that he needs an IL stint.
“I don’t want to admit it,” Freeman said, “But I might have needed the last 10 days.”
For the series finale against the Chicago Cubs, Quique Hernandez will play in one base instead. The are off the worst home loss in franchise history after the Cubs routed 16-0 on Friday night.
LA aims to bounce back on Sunday with Tyler Glasnow on the mound.
