One of the latest faces to appear in the dugout is Hyson Kim.
Kim is a four-time Gold Globe Award winner for the Korean Baseball Organization and became the only player to win Gold Globes in both the 2 base and shortstop in KBO history. He still needed time to adapt to different speeds with KBO pitchers and MLB pitchers, and began his career in Oklahoma City.
After proving himself in the Triple A to begin his North American baseball career by hitting a .252, utility star Tommy Edman goes down with an ankle injury.
In the past 16 games, Kim has hit .378 with three stolen bases, five RBIs and his first big league home run. Manager Dave Roberts spoke about how he continues to incorporate him now that Edman and Tecker Hernandez have returned from the injured list stint.
“I think I got Tommy from time to time with Kim, I think I get Tommy from time to time (Tescal Hernandez) gets a day to get his feet back under him. I think we’ll give Michael (Comporto) a day here in the next two.
“I’ll probably say I’ll start by putting him there 3.5 times a week and then he’ll come to the game again (from the bench).
Kim hopes that the play him and that he will continue to succeed anywhere at the major league level.
