Manager Dave Roberts admitted that the were unable to maintain success with the overworked bullpen and starters who couldn’t pitch deeply into the game.
“It seems like a certain person – and I was able to go back to each starter – but you’re still trying to take care of their health, and () beware of the innings the bullpen is trying to do as much as you can and manage leverage and more,” Roberts recently said.
“It’s definitely not, we don’t want to lead the league in the bullpen innings.”
The loss of Tyler Glasnow and Blake Snell certainly puts more pressure on the ‘ bailouts since the team now began implementing bullpen games. The injury is certainly intertwined with the heavy bullpen workload.
