Another game, another elite effort from Los Angeles ace Yoshinobu Yamamoto.
The lost two of the New York Mets’ three in the final series. The team started another series on the road with a solid opponent for the Cleveland Guardians. With a good start, the team leaned over Yamamoto to win over them, as they did all year round.

Yamamoto was spectacular – pitching six innings while allowing only three hits and two run scored. For a good measure, he hit seven parents towards his sixth victory this year. Yamamoto also lowered his ERA to 1.97 microscope (second best in the National League).
After Monday’s efforts, manager Dave Roberts spoke with the media about his pitcher’s performance, along with the impact he had on the season. Roberts didn’t hold back when he explained how much Yamamoto intended for his team so far this season.
“He can argue that he is our most valuable player given the people around him and what happened. “But on the pitching side, give him a good chance to win every time he goes out, so that he can reset the pen.
Yamamoto’s classification is not at least surprising. It can be pointed out that he is one of the best pitchers in baseball since the season began in late March. His various pitch choices make the batters out of balance. The pinpoint fastball combo was complemented by a catastrophic splitter, loop curveball and a new cutter.
When further contextualizing the lack of health within the team’s rotation, Yamamoto was nothing but a godsend for this team. It’s hard to imagine a scenario in which Yamamoto, too, fell from some kind of injury over the long term with Tyler Glasnow or Blake Snell.
As good as Freddie Freeman, Shohai Otani, Will Smith and Tecker Hernandez, Yamamoto has proven to be the most essential player on this team.
